Better Living Center, located at 1129 NW Garden Valley Blvd. in Roseburg, Oregon (next to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, across from Starbucks).
*Though the Course is not linked with the Seventh Day Adventist Church, UC-VEG is honored to have the support of SDA and accesses to a wonderful venue, and recognizes the parallels that the Course shares with many of the traditional SDA lifestyle choices.
It is of utmost importance to UC-VEG that the information contained in the 14 week course is disseminated to those that need it. Therefore, there is no fee for the course, though a donation of $40/person is suggested. All facilitators are contributing their time and expertise as a service to the community of Douglas County. Additionally, the book “How Not To Die” by Michael Greger, M.D. is used as the text book for the course. Students are encouraged to obtain their own copy, available for purchase in class for $18 or online for $15-27.00 plus shipping. Thanks to a generous sponsorship from the Umpqua Health Alliance, a participants on Oregon Health Plan will receive a free copy of the book.
Students are also encouraged to obtain a pedometer, which can be found for a few dollars to $20.00. Fitbits, smartphones, or other types of fitness trackers may also serve the purpose of tracking your steps.
